Five Day Whisky Itinerary

This trip was put together for a small group of French whisky enthusiasts, who wanted to visit the home of one of Scotland’s most distinctive malt whiskies.

Day One

Arrive Glasgow Airport

Flight to Islay from Glasgow Airport

Met by private chauffeur at Islay airport

Visit Bunnahabhain Distillery, Port Askaig, Islay

Enjoy a tour of this 130 year old distillery and taste its distinctly gentle Islay single malt Scotch whisky.

Visit Caol Llla and Kichoman Distilleries

No guided tours here, instead visit the visitor centres and gift shops

Visit Bruichladdich Distillery for a tour followed by a warehouse demonstration

Bruichladdich’s single malt is matured in warehouses, on or above the shores of Lochindaal, on the island’s most westerly shore.

Overnight at the Harbour Inn and Restaurant, Bowmore, Islay

Day Three

Breakfast at the Harbour Inn and Restaurant

Arrive Laphroaig Distillery for a tour and guided warehouse tasting

In a stunning location on the southern shore of Islay, this distillery has been producing its famous single malt for nearly 200 years.

Visit Ardbeg and Lagavulin Distilleries

No guided tours here, instead visit the visitor centres and gift shop

Visit Bowmore Distillery for their Craftsmen’s Tour

This 2 hour journey of discovery includes a visit to the legendary Bowmore No.1 Vaults where you will be able to sample some very special Bowmore whisky.

Flight to Glasgow from Islay Airport

Visit Auchentoshan Distillery, near Clydebank

Private guided tour and tasting of two different Auchentoshan single malt whiskies

Free Afternoon on the shores of Loch Lomond

Take a boat trip on the loch, wander around the designer shopping outlets at Lomond Shores or soak up the scenery on a walk.
